Hollow Bearers

Hollow bearers provide protection against accidental damage to cross track cables and the associated costs of reinstatement, and now offer the most cost effective UTX (under track crossing) solution.
They are generally supplied with fittings in place, which can then be removed to allow existing cabling to be “gathered” into the bearer. Bearers are also supplied with the required fastenings, and we can devise bespoke solutions for local requirements.
Lateral Resistance Plates
Cost effective lateral resistance solution.
We are able to supply the newest and most cost effective lateral resistance solution used in the UK, the Trackwork Lateral Resistance Plates. The plates are fitted to ties or bearers to enhance lateral resistance to thermal and traffic forces.
Typical usage when using Continuously Welded Rail (CWR) is on curves below 1,312 feet radius and within shorter switches. The Lateral Resistance Plates can be fitted to timber, concrete or composite ties and bearers, and the design is adjustable, catering for different tie heights from 4.92” to 8.26”.
